Our Yacht
The S/Y Southern Star is a 23,3 m ocean aluminium staysail cutter. She has spent 21 sailing seasons in the Arctic, completing 17 impressive polar expeditions, including traversing twice the Northwest Passage, considered the most challenging waters in the world.
The yacht has 15 berths (sleeping spaces), for both captain, crew and passengers. Accommodation takes place in 2-person, comfortable, radiator - heated cabins. Southern Star is a spacious yacht. Inside, besides 7 cabins, there is a mess (saloon), 3 bathrooms, a kitchen with refrigerators, freezer, stove and an oven. All meals can be prepared like at home, additionally enriched by fish caught straight from the sea.
Due to the adjustable daggerboard Southern Star's draft can be reduced to 2.4 meters, allows us, unlike other ships limited by depth, to approach the glacier's edge and disembark in places inaccessible by car, snowmobile or on foot.
